Film star Rajnikanth has arranged a special preview of his film Shivaji for former chief minister and Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu at Prasad Labs. Babu not only watched the film patiently but appreciated every action of the super star. Incidentally, chief minister YS Rajsekhar Reddy was not invited for this preview since it was "special" and meant exclusively for Chandrababu Naidu.
Immediately after the show, Babu interacted with mediapersons and felt that Rajnikanth should join active politics. The Rajnikanth-Babu meeting gains significance as the TD leader has now joined the AIADMK leader J Jayalalitaa's camp (read Third Front). Incidentally, Rajnikanth gave tacit support to Jayalalitaa in the recent Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
NTR Bhavan sources point out that Babu's meeting with Rajnikanth and watching the Telugu film Shivaji is a strategic move. Babu is desperate out of power and he wants to gain power at any cost. He feels that praising Rajnikanth and siding with him will bring a few more votes to the Telugu Desam.
Sources also point out that Babu and Jayalalitaa may use Rajnikanth for the Third Front campaigns as and when needed. But it all depends on the super star.
